To make the most of FastPanda’s email services, it is essential to properly configure the correct MX, A, and TXT records. If your domain’s NS records are directed to FastPanda and you have purchased your hosting service from FastPanda as well, the mail records are automatically configured by the system. However, if the NS records are managed by a different provider while using FastPanda for email services, you may need to manually configure the mail records. Detailed information about these records is provided below.

MX Record

MX (Mail Exchanger) record is a type of DNS record that specifies the email servers for a domain name. MX records determine which server incoming emails will be directed to, facilitating the routing of incoming emails. The MX record should be as follows.

Type: MX
Name: @ or domain.extension
Priority: 0
Value: @
TTL: Default or 3600

A Record

For mail servers to function correctly, the A (Address) record is essential. The A record directs a domain name to a specific IP address. In email services, A records are used to determine the IP addresses of mail servers specified by MX records. This domain name must have an A record for the IP address of the mail server to be resolved. If the A record is missing or misconfigured, issues may arise with email delivery and browser access.

Type: A
Name: mail.domain.extension
Value: Server IP (cPanel or Plesk Panel IP)
TTL: Default or 3600

and

Type: A
Name: webmail.domain.extension
Value: Server IP (cPanel or Plesk Panel IP)
TTL: Default or 3600

TXT Record

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record is an email authentication method used to prevent email spoofing. The SPF record specifies which servers are authorized to send emails on behalf of a domain.

Type: TXT (SPF)
Name: @ or domain.extension
Value: v=spf1 +a +mx include:_spf.fastpanda.com -all
TTL: Default or 3600

Important Information:

  1. Two A records, one MX record, and one TXT (SPF) record are sufficient for the service to function properly. Optional records include DKIM and DMARC records. You can contact FastPanda’s support team for these records.
  2. If incorrect MX or TXT records are entered, your emails may not reach the correct server or could be marked as spam. Therefore, ensure that the records are configured correctly.
  3. Short interruptions may occur until the changes propagate.
  4. If the NS records are later directed to FastPanda, mail records may not be updated automatically. You can contact our support team for assistance with adjustments.
