Custom Name Servers are DNS servers that are specifically configured for a business or individual’s own domain names. They are usually named something like “ns1.yourdomain.com” and “ns2.yourdomain.com”. To set up a custom name server, you must have an IP address. If you have an IP address, you can follow the steps below to configure your custom NS.
- Access the website www.fastpanda.co.uk
- Click on the “Sign In” button on the opened page, enter your customer panel information, and click the “Log in” button to log in to your account.
- Click on the “Domain Names” option in the left menu.
- On the opened page, you will see your existing domain names. Click the “pencil” icon next to the domain name where you want to add a custom Name Server (NS).
- Click the “Manage > Create NS” button located on the right side of the page.
- Enter the prefix in the “Sub NS” box. For example: NS1, NS2, etc.
Enter your IP address in the “IP” box. For example: 123.123.123.12 - After entering the information, click the “Save Changes” button.
- Just below the “Register Nameservers Save/Delete” heading, the records you added will be visible.
- With the above steps, only the custom Name Server (NS) records have been added. To point your domain to the custom Name Server (NS) you added, click the “Manage > Name Servers” button.
- If the checkbox “My website works on fastpanda.co.uk” is selected, you won’t be able to enter Name Server (NS) details, so you should first uncheck this box.
- Enter the new name server information in the boxes located just below the “Nameserver 1” and “Nameserver 2” fields.
- If you have more than two Name Servers (NS) to enter, click the “+” icon.
- Enter the new name server information in the boxes located just below the “Nameserver 3” and “Nameserver 4” fields.
- Save the information you entered by clicking the “Change Nameservers” button and wait for the changes to take effect.
- Propagation of the changes worldwide may take 24-48 hours.
