A subdomain is a subsection of a main domain and is typically used to host different content on your website. Subdomains are often preferred by blogs or e-commerce sites.
Examples:
blog.yoursite.com – For the blog section of your website
shop.yoursite.com – For the e-commerce section
To create a subdomain in Plesk Panel, you can follow the steps below.
- Access the website www.fastpanda.co.uk
- Click on the “Sign In” button on the opened page, enter your customer panel information, and click the “Log in” button to log in to your account.
- Click on the “Web Hosting” option in the left menu.
- On the opened page, you will see your existing web hosting packages. Click the “Manage Product” button for the service you want to access Plesk Panel for.
- Just below the Plesk Panel icon, you will find the “Login to Panel” button. Clicking on this button will automatically redirect you to the Plesk Panel.
- On the Plesk Panel homepage, access the “Websites & Domains” tab and click the “Add Subdomain” button.
- On the page that appears, enter the subdomain name you want to create in the “Subdomain name” box. For example, you can write a name like blog, store, or shop. This name will be added to your main domain name, thus creating the subdomain (for example, blog.yoursite.com).
- From the box next to it, select your domain name.
- In the “Document root” section, you will be asked to select a target directory for the subdomain. This directory specifies which folder or directory the subdomain will be redirected to. Typically, when you enter the subdomain, Plesk automatically creates this directory. However, if you wish, you can manually change this directory.
- After entering all the information, click the “Ok” button at the bottom of the page to create the subdomain.
- After creating the subdomain, Plesk Panel will display a confirmation message. The subdomain creation process may take a few seconds. Once the subdomain is created, you can upload your content and launch your website.
