You may often see the CPU described as “the brain of a computer or server”. This is because the CPU handles all the computation tasks, processes commands, and communicates with other components of the computer. Therefore, the performance of the CPU is important as it directly affects the overall speed and efficiency of the computer. Every server has a specific CPU power. When intensive tasks are performed on the server, there can be increases in CPU usage. If these increases exceed the allocated CPU capacity for the server, it will slow down, and processing times will start to increase.

If you have purchased a VPS from our company, the CPU usage limit will allow occasional fluctuations. However, if high usage persists for more than 10 minutes, our system will reduce the VPS CPU capacity as a protective measure. To prevent this, you can monitor your VPS’s CPU usage, and if you are consistently reaching the limits, you may consider upgrading to a higher plan.

Where can the CPU be monitored?

  • Access the website www.fastpanda.co.uk.
  • Click on the “Sign In” button on the opened page, enter your customer panel information, and click the “Log in” button to log in to your account.

  • Click on the “VPS Server” option in the left menu.

  • On the page that opens, you will see your current VPS packages. For the service you want to check the CPU status, click the “Manage Product” button.

  • On the page that opens, you will find the “CPU usage” section. You can monitor the graph here and reduce CPU usage if there is an increase.

CPU usage

What can you do to reduce CPU usage?

  • You can try managing background processes carefully.
  • You can stop unnecessary processes running in the background that are not useful to you.
  • You can monitor which applications or processes on the server are using high CPU and optimize them.
  • You can check for malware and viruses.
