Why is your VPS IP blacklisted?

Here are some possible reasons why your VPS IP might be blacklisted:

  • A large number of spam emails may have been sent from the server without your knowledge.
  • Protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC may not have been configured correctly.
  • It could be due to the consecutive sending of emails that might be perceived as spam, such as promotional campaigns.
  • The emails you sent may have been marked as “spam” by users.
  • It could be due to an algorithmic error, or the new IP addresses may have been blacklisted by providers because there is insufficient data about past activities.

If you believe your VPS IP address has been blacklisted, you should first verify this. You can use platforms such as MXToolbox or Spamhaus to check whether your IP address is blacklisted. If you find that your IP address is on a blacklist, you will need to contact the company managing the blacklist and request removal from it.

What can you do to prevent your VPS IP from being blacklisted?

  • Do not send a large number of spam emails from your server.
  • Pay attention to the subject and content of the emails you send. For example, avoid sending emails with empty subject lines or harmful attachments.
  • Properly configure protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
  • Regularly monitor the server and stop any spam sending activities if you’re unaware of them

Additional information: When your VPS IP address is blacklisted, it cannot be replaced with a new IP address. However, you may try to acquire an extra IP for a fee; but the allocation of a new IP is at the provider’s discretion. You can submit your request for an IP through our support system and proceed based on the response you receive.
